How are charter schools governed?

All Pennsylvania charter schools must be formed as non-profit organizations that are governed by a Board of Trustees. The procedure for selecting trustees must be part of the application submitted for the school as a part of the school's Bylaws. As a part of the Pennsylvania "Sunshine Law" that pertains to business conducted by all public agencies, all meetings of the Board of Trustees must be advertised and held in public. A schedule of Wissahickon Charter School Trustees' meetings may be found on our web site.
