Attached is the Intent to Enroll Form for Wissahickon Charter School for students entering grades Kindergarten through Grade 8 in September 2008. Wissahickon Charter School is a tuition-free public school open to the children of Philadelphia and the Commonwealth Pennsylvania. There is no admission test. The purpose of this form is to collect information that will be used to establish a mailing list so that we may communicate with prospective students.

When the completed Intent to Enroll Form has been returned, your child's name will be placed on the list of prospective students. In the event there are more prospective students than seats, a lottery will be conducted to select students. The first phase of the lottery will be held for students who are residents of Philadelphia.

The lottery for Kindergarten is held on December 1st. Admission notices will be sent to those students selected in the lottery. A "Waiting List" will be established (in lottery order) for those students not selected.

Applications for grades other than Kindergarten will be collected until March 31st. Selection for students in grades other than Kindergarten will begin after March 31st and as spaces become available. A waitlist will be generated for those grades and you will be notified in writing of your number on the list.

Those students who receive an admission notice will also be sent an appointment for registration. The registration process must be completed so that actual enrollments and class assignments can be made. Parents/guardians who complete the registration process are acknowledging that their child is officially enrolled in Wissahickon Charter School and that the child will attend the school in September 2008.

Once all registrations are completed, if any vacancies remain, students will be enrolled from the "Waiting List" in the order in which their name appears on that list. If you have any questions about Wissahickon Charter School or about the admission process, please contact us at (267) 338-1020.
