Depending on your financial situation, there may be ways to make an even greater impact while also receiving valuable tax benefits.
Below are three giving strategies that many of our supporters have found especially meaningful. As always, we encourage you to consult your financial or tax advisor to determine what is right for you.
Donating appreciated stock can be one of the most tax-efficient ways to support Wissahickon Charter School. By giving securities that have increased in value, you may be able to avoid capital gains taxes while also receiving a charitable deduction for the full fair market value of the gift.*
Whether you've held stock for years or recently seen significant investment growth, donating appreciated securities can allow you to make a larger impact than you might have thought possible.
Pennsylvania's Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program offers one of the most powerful ways to support Wissahickon Charter School. Both individual and business participants receive a 90% Pennsylvania state tax credit on their contribution. In addition, the remaining 10% of the gift generally qualifies as a federal charitable deduction for individual donors, while business owners may also be eligible for a federal charitable deduction on the full amount of their contribution. Together, these tax benefits allow many participants to make a significant gift at a fraction of the cost.*
A planned gift is one of the most meaningful ways to invest in Wissahickon's future. By including WCS in your will, trust, or beneficiary designation, you create a lasting legacy that will benefit students for generations to come.
Many planned gifts cost nothing today, yet make an extraordinary impact in the future. Whether large or small, every legacy gift reflects a belief that future generations deserve the same opportunities that today's students enjoy.
If you'd like to learn more about any of these giving opportunities, please contact Jane Walsh, Director of Development, at j.walsh@issahickoncharter.org. We'd be happy to talk through your options with no obligation.
